Why are so many fascinated at the thrill of the unknown?  Who knows for sure?  However, it is the surprise element of the “unknown” that Hollywood producers use to heighten the sense of fear. 

Scenes where people explore the sounds of noises go into dark rooms and do the kind we all would not do in real life is what excites the senses.  Have you every watched a scary movie where one of the actors was about to enter a dark room to explore the sound of a noise?  Usually, your first response is always, “If it were me, I wouldn’t go in there”.  In reality most people wouldn’t.  We would probably run as fast as we can to avoid discovering the unknown.

Take the movie “Nightmare On Elm Street” and “Scary Movie” which was reproduced in more sequels than any other films in its class.  With each new release people all over the country packed the theaters looking for the next big thing in fright.

It’s a fact…we all love to watch them.  They are a favorite source for entertainment when we have friends over, during slumber parties or while watching alone.  The anticipation we experience when a new movie is released in theaters is amazing.  As soon as they are released on DVD, we run out and buy them for our DVD collection.  How large is your collection?  If you don’t have many, it is time to start building up your collection today.
