Blue Ray Disc

Blu-Rays DVD movie technology has really advanced.  The crystal clear picture quality of a movie displayed on screen is unmatched by any other technology.  Make no mistake about it; Blu-Ray is poised to replace regular DVD’s sooner or later.  When you look at this new type of technology, there are several things that make it far superior to its counterparts, the DVD.

For one, the storage capacity and a Blu-Ray Disc allows for a more entertaining experience and plays a big role in displaying super high quality picture and crystal clear sound in HDTV players.

A typical disk delivers up to 1080p resolution of pure HDTV quality when compared to the resolution of a standard DVD which only delivers 480p.  This is a huge jump.  Moreover, the storage capacity of a Blu-Ray disk can store between 45- 50 GB of movie high definition content enhancing the quality of the picture and allowing for added special viewing options.  A standard DVD only holds the storage space of 10 GB’s.

So now that the trend is quickly moving to this new technology, what do you do with that massive collection of DVD’s displayed on your entertainment system?  We all seem to have faced the same dilemma at one time when; audio cassette tapes were quickly being replaced by CD’s.  The good news is that manufactures of Blu-Ray players realize this is an issue and have incorporated the ability to play standard DVD’s into Blu-Ray technology so you can still play both formats in one player.
